Students

Welcome students!

As a high school student, you're likely familiar with the various costs that can arise, including course fees, standardized testing fees, club activities, sports, and field trips. Sometimes, covering these expenses can be challenging. That's why Secret Samaritans was created—to help you with these costs while keeping your identity anonymous.

What expenses are covered?

Below is a list of types of assistance that are generally funded. This list is not meant to be exhaustive, but to give an idea of what can be funded.

  • Club and sports memberships/dues/fees

  • Prom, After-Prom and other dance tickets

  • Sports equipment and uniforms

  • Calculators

  • Classroom fees

  • AP/IB testing fees

  • Summer school fees

  • Yearbooks

  • Camp and conference fees and travel expenses for school-related clubs, classes, and athletics. For example:

    • Debate trips

    • DECA Competitions

    • State Competitions

    • Dance/Cheer camp

    • Journalism camp

How do students get support?

If you identify an expense you need help with, please fill out the Secret Samaritans Request Form. Once completed, give it to a trusted staff member at Monarch High School. They will remove your identifying information from the form and submit it to Secret Samaritans, ensuring your anonymity is protected. Secret Samaritans will then notify potential donors in their database. Once a match is found, the donor will provide the requested funds, and the request will be processed.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • All requests must be for school-related expenses.

  • Students seeking assistance are expected to contribute a small portion, usually around 10%, of the total amount.

  • Secret Samaritans has the final decision on whether a request will be funded.
