Welcome Monarch High School Staff!
As educators and coaches, you often see firsthand the financial challenges our students face, particularly when it comes to school-related activities that are vital to their growth and development. To address these struggles, we established Secret Samaritans—a program dedicated to supporting Monarch High School students who encounter financial barriers. The process ensures complete anonymity for students seeking assistance, with only the requesting teacher or coach and a school counselor aware of their identity. This initiative not only reduces the financial stress tied to extracurricular participation but also equips educators and coaches with a valuable tool to create equal opportunities for all students. Through Secret Samaritans, we aim to advocate for your students, helping them engage fully, thrive, and achieve their greatest potential.
How do I get support for a student?
If you identify a school-related expense that a student needs assistance with, please complete the Secret Samaritans Request Form. Once finished, submit it to Autumn Coppejans (autumn.coppejans@bvsd.org) in the counseling office. Autumn will detach the portion that identifies the student and will collaborate directly with Secret Samaritans to ensure the request is fulfilled.
A few things to keep in mind:
-
All requests must be for school-related expenses. Visit the Students page for examples of expenses that are typically requested.
-
Students seeking assistance are expected to contribute a small portion, usually around 10%, of the total amount.
-
Secret Samaritans has the final decision on whether a request will be funded.
